I was introduced to photography by my father…. It took me years to understand what a gift that was.
I started with my dad’s 4x5 Speed Graphic, played with Polaroid, then got my first (of many) 35mm camera. Later, digital offered too many advantages to stick with film, so I happily transitioned to DSLRs. And so it goes, emerging technology always making “now” the most fascinating time to be a photographer.
I like nature photography. I really like landscape photography, particularly of the US Southwest. And I love, love, love taking photos while traveling. But ultimately, it's images of people I find most challenging and rewarding. But no matter the category, there is real joy in crafting a strong image that profoundly engages the viewer while capturing a moment otherwise unseen.
Image-making is not my career— but it is my passion. Photography is a way of seeing; a delightful method of expression. It is indeed a gift, on either side of the lens.
